How to test your webcam online

Use this browser camera test to confirm that your camera is visible, permission is allowed, and the video preview works before joining a call.

Check browser permission

Your browser must be allowed to use the camera. If permission is blocked, open site settings and allow camera access.

Preview video

A live preview means the selected camera is working in the browser and can be used by supported web apps.

Select the right camera

If you use Extroid, choose Extroid Camera. If you use a built-in webcam, choose the matching device name.

Test Extroid Camera before a browser call

Camera Check is useful after pairing Extroid and before opening Google Meet, Zoom Web, or another browser-based video call.

Why your browser camera may not appear

If the camera test fails, the cause is usually permission, device availability, or a browser environment issue.

Camera permission is blocked

Open browser site settings and allow camera access for this page. Then refresh the camera list and start the test again.

Another app is using the camera

Close other video-call apps or browser tabs that may already be using the camera, then retry the preview.

Unsupported browser environment

Some in-app browsers and QR scanner webviews cannot request camera permission correctly. Open the page in a real browser.

Camera test FAQ

Short answers for common webcam test, browser camera, and Extroid Camera questions.

How do I test my webcam online?

Choose a camera, press Start Camera Test, and allow camera permission. If the preview appears, your browser can access the selected camera.

Why is my camera not showing in Chrome?

The camera may be blocked by permission settings, already used by another app, disconnected, or unavailable in the current browser environment.

Can I test Extroid Camera before Google Meet?

Yes. Connect your device with Extroid, open Camera Check, select Extroid Camera, and confirm that the preview works.

Does this camera test record my video?

No. This page previews the selected camera in your browser. It is for checking permission and camera availability before a call.

Can I use this before Zoom Web or Google Meet?

Yes. This page helps confirm that the browser sees your camera before you join a browser-based video call. It does not test native desktop apps.

What camera should I select if I use Extroid?

Select Extroid Camera. If it does not appear, make sure your device is connected through Extroid and refresh the camera list.

Need to use your phone camera in browser calls?

Extroid lets a connected device camera appear as Extroid Camera in supported browser-based video calls. Test it here before joining your meeting.
