Where Extroid works – and where it does not
Extroid lets you use your phone camera in browser-based video calls. It does not install a system-wide webcam driver, so native desktop apps work differently.
Compatibility matrix
Treat this as the official support scope. Browser apps are the target. Native desktop apps need an operating-system camera driver, which Extroid does not install.
| Platform or app | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|

Zoom desktop Native desktop app | Not supported | Native desktop apps require an operating-system webcam device |
OBS Native desktop app | Not supported | Extroid does not install a virtual camera driver for OBS |
Why browser calls work
Extroid is a browser-native camera layer. That is why setup is lightweight, and also why the support scope is intentionally narrow.
Use the browser version when possible
If a desktop app is unsupported, check whether the service has a browser version. For example, use Zoom Web instead of the native Zoom desktop app.
Connection checklist
Most setup problems come from permissions, WebView QR scanners, or local network behavior.
